If we burn less wood, oil, or coal….
less CO2 and other greenhouse gases are spewed into the atmosphere thereby slowing global warming.
If less gas is burned….
Less smog and greenhouse gases.
If less electricity is needed….
Less nuclear waste, less uranium left exposed in mines, and less power plants to be built.
If less coal is burned….
Less air pollution, less strip mining, less acid rain.
If less oil is needed….
Less drilling (and disruption of surrounding wildlife), less oil spills because of less off-shore drilling.
Conserving water….
Less chemicals and energy for sewage and water treatment.
