How You Can Help

From "Fir Trees"

“Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little”.

  1. USE LESS PAPER AND REDUCE YOUR DEMAND
According to the World Wildlife fund, “The average American citizen consumes seven times as much commercial wood and paper as citizens in other countries. If the average American reduced his/her consumption of wood and paper to the level of the average European, there would be a reduction of 11 billion cubic feet of wood consumed each year; saving 135 million trees, each 100 feet tall and 1.5 feet in diameter”.

  4. PRECYCLE
Avoid purchasing products that have been packaged excessively.

  5. RECYCLE AND REUSE PAPER (AND PAPER PRODUCTS)
World Wildlife Fund states, “Every ton of paper that is recycle saves 17 trees, 7000 gallons of water, 4100 kilowatts of electricity, and 90 cubic feet of landfill space”.

  6. EAT LESS RED MEAT
Rainforests are destroyed to make grazing lands for cattle and Americans buy this cattle. Since the land is nutrient poor, the ranchers move on leaving a desert once the land becomes barren.
